“ What a fun event! Last Monday, I had the pleasure of attending Glenwood's, formerly Stanford Grill, Mardi Gras complimentary tasting, and it was a delightful experience. The transformation is impressive. The event was a celebration of classic New Orleans flavors and cocktails. The drinks stole the show. The Sazerac, Hurricane, and French 75 were all expertly crafted, each offering a perfect balance of flavors. The Sazerac was bold with just the right amount of rye whiskey bite, while the Hurricane was refreshing with a subtle sweetness. The French 75 was a crisp and elegant choice, adding a touch of sparkle to the evening. Food was equally impressive. We were treated to deep-fried oysters on the half shell, topped with wasabi caviar, which added a unique kick to the dish and perfectly complemented the briny oysters. The muffaletta sandwiches, a classic New Orleans favorite, were generously portioned and packed with flavorful meats, olives, and cheese. For dessert, the beignets were warm, fluffy, and delicious, especially when paired with the raspberry sauce that offered a sweet, tangy contrast. Overall, Glenwood's Mardi Gras tasting event was a fantastic way to experience a taste of New Orleans in a charming setting. “ Having been to Glenwood's a few times in the last year or so, I thought it was time to write a review. We were glad we made a reservation as the restaurant was full at dinner time. Despite the crowd, we enjoyed pleasant conversation and felt well taken care of - the service was prompt and helpful. The portions are quite substantial, so you will not go away hungry. We each enjoyed a cocktail which was potent yet refreshing. My dining companion and I shared the cornbread and Brussels sprouts appetizers - probably our least favorite items as the usually stellar cornbread was dry and somewhat overdone; the Brussels while flavorful were also a tad well done for our liking. For entrees, I had the tenderloin filet, and my dining partner enjoyed the pork shank which was one of several daily specials. Both were cooked perfectly and well-seasoned. The generous sides of mashed potatoes and spinach were a welcome accompaniment. For dessert we shared the Key lime pie and peanut butter cookie cheesecake - both were delicious and there was plenty to take home for a late-night snack. Glenwood's knows exactly what it is and plays the part perfectly - a family night out, a business dinner, or a date night all will feel comfortable here. After several recent Columbia area dining disasters, we chose Glenwood's to right the ship and were glad we did. ”

“ We unplanned to go out for friday night! We didn't make a reservation for the place. When we arrived the host said "we have to wait for 1 hour" We were starving! Thanks for there is a 2 seats at the bar which was really good place! The lady with glasses was so nice at the bar! She was kind, helpful... There was a live music. Food was good too. Only thing is a tooo much dark and too noisy. ”

“ Upscale dinner spot located neatly off the main road. The parking is plentiful. The dim lit dining area creates a nice atmosphere for a dinner date. There's a full bar with some seasoned bartenders. The food is delicious. I highly recommend trying various items. Reservations are strongly suggested. ”

“ Dining is just not about the food. It should be an experience. At the Glenwood's the food is delicious. The atmosphere is warm, intimate and lively. Every Monday evening the Bruce Swaim Jazz trio plays. If you know music you will know that this is a wonderful treat. We came to hear the band as my sister, a musician follows this trio. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellence of the food and service. One of the best servers "Jeff" was gracious and accommodating. The calamari dipping sauce was spicy and complemented the dish. The oysters were fresh and good. The marinated steak salad was excellent. The steak was moist and stood out. The cheeseburger was ordered by three of our foursome and we all loved it. Don't miss out. Come on a Monday, enjoy the jazz, the delicious food and excellent service. ”

“ A pleasant surprise at Glenwood's! I recently visited Glenwood's, formerly known as the Stanford Grill, after quite some time. My previous experiences at Stanford Grill hadn't been compelling enough for a return, but Glenwood's has turned things around. I met some friends for happy hour and we grabbed seats at the bar. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the bartender greeted us warmly, quickly took our drink orders, and set us up with place settings. I ordered a Vesper cocktail (off-menu), and it was expertly crafted. The ambiance is upscale casual, drawing a professional crowd. While the spacious restaurant area seems like it would benefit from reservations, the generously sized bar feels more accessible for spontaneous visits. For dinner, I had the Rattlesnake Pasta, and it was excellent. The food and drinks finally match the premium pricing, which was my main gripe with the previous iteration of this restaurant. Overall, Glenwood's delivered a great experience, and I'll definitely be back much sooner this time. ”

“ It was a great visit. The food and service were so on point. After I heard the daily specials I decided to go with the rockfish special and the mushroom soup as an appetizer. Both dishes were amazing and in totally different ways. The soup had a thin broth and a smattering of mushrooms, chives, and spices. And the rockfish had a light lemon-butter sauce on it, plus came with a rice medley and spaghetti squash. And I had a taste of the key lime pie...I loved it and I don't usually dig those kinds of pies. The waitress kept my Coke Zero filled. The bathrooms were immaculate. The space was comfy and cozy. I'll definitely return. ”

“ My family and I attended Stanford grill for my sister in law high school graduation. The restaurant was accommodating to our large party of 6, and catered to our dietary preferences. I decided to get the crab cake sandwich and I'm glad I did. Let's start with the shoestring fries. These were amazing and addicting. Well salted and crispy I couldn't stop eating them to the point that I almost got full before trying the sandwich itself. I decided to ask for avocado and spinach instead of lettuce and tomato and my server was accommodating to my request. I also asked for a side of the honey sesame vinaigrette and It took the sandwich to a whole nother level. The crab cake itself did not have a lot of filling, the bun was soft and the avocado added a nice creaminess to the Sando. My wife family enjoyed their meal as well and we are glad that we came ”

“ Apparently the Stanford Grill has now changed its name to Glenwood's. Still has the Stanford Grill sign out front. Still looks like the same old restaurant I remember from the last time I came in. It's tucked away behind the Extended Stay Hotel. The parking lot has plenty of spaces. Bar was packed. They must have a nice happy hour still. The restaurant Is very dimly lit with a romantic feel to it. On this night they had a live band playing jazz music. Very entertaining. The food is still great like the old Stanford. I ordered some Brussel sprouts as an appetizer. They were crispy on the outside with a sweet glaze and topped with Bacon. Yum. My main course was the rotisserie chicken. The amount Of food was massive. Way more than I could finish so I took half home. The price wasn't outrageous either. A nice dining experience and still as good as the Stanford Gill. I approve of Glenwood's but still wonder when the name changed. ”
